Choose Your Own Adventure

I wrote my choose your own adventure story about a princess that is stolen and and a handsome knight has to go on a quest to find her. I made this with keynote. I had to type up my story onto slides, make the buttons and link them to other slides, and put in the illustrations along with my video of confetti flying. I think it turned out pretty good for a first time doing one of these projects. At first I had to idea what a choose your own adventure story was. As I got into the project it was really fun, I would definitely do it again. I liked putting my slides together and watching my story come together. I didn't like putting my paragraphs on my slides, this is because if I accidentally pressed delete on the document that I was copying from I would have to go and rewrite the paragraph all over again. All in all this was a really fun project and you should try it some time.

My Inspiration

Nikki Schwanz  is someone who inspires me to do my best and helps me learn and grow.  She is a hard working woman who does not stop at anything until she has accomplished it. Nikki works for the city of O’Neill, Nebraska running operations for the city, writing the budget, watching over accountability funds, and she informs the public about obstacles. She grew up in California on Redondo Beach. She described her home in California as beautiful. She enjoyed the 70 degree weather and she said her house was located right by the beach where she could smell the salty breeze of the ocean.
When I asked her what she thought of as personal success she told me achieving her goals and watching her children grow up and watch them be successful in the goals they set. She became successful by always being focused. She was driven, set her goals, and was bound and determined to achieve goals she had set for herself. She said when it came to tough times and obstacles get in the way she prioritizes, plans it out, and she organizes  her time management of everything. She even described herself as a list maker.
When I asked Nikki to describe her life she said to me that her faith is grounded, its busy with work, children’s activities, and herds new married. Her marriage also keeps her on her toes with life in different cities. She is kept busy by what she loves most. Her relationship and faith with God is something that’s important to her, and adding to that her work, husband, family and the base of her life, her kids. Throughout her life she has learned to have faith when things get hard, and stressful and balancing her life, work, and activities. She doesn't feel like she's doing the best for all but she's doing the best that she can.
Nikki remembers the birth of her twin sons Blake and Grant. She was on bed rest for a month. Nikki was very concerned about the prematurity of her babies and their health. Over all it was a difficult pregnancy. Nikki wouldn't want to change her life. She has gone throughout so much adversity and her life wouldn't be the same as it is now, and she is grateful for that. She is most proud of her sons and being their mom, she is also proud to witness them growing up.

This wonderful person inspires me and many others, she is practically like a second mother. I admire her strong faith with God and the bond with the family she has. I also know she loves her family and has worked hard to get what she wants. Sure she had some problems along the way to success but with help and her own strength she over came those difficulties. Whenever I have a question she helps me with it and gives all the guidance she can to help me decided what to do or just give me her thoughts. I could go on and on but we don’t have that much time so this is why Nikki Schwanz inspires me.

Thailand is a beautiful country and it caught my attention. I knew there were beautiful views so I wondered what it would be like to go there on vacation. The things I wanted to know the most about was a bit of this country’s background information, a lot about the food and Thailand’s nature. I especially want to go to the beach and lay on the sand, and then later get stuffed on all of the food. Let’s take a trip to Thailand.

The people of Thailand are called Thai. Thailand is inhabited by more than 6 million people. Thailand is ruled by a western power and located in South East Asia. The country was formally call Siam but adopted the name Thailand in 1939. Thai citizens are required to be 18 years of age or older to vote. The ancestors of Thailand originally migrated from Southern China more than 1,000 years ago. 95% of Thai people are Buddhists and the other 5% are Muslims. The languages spoken by most Thai people are of 4 basic dialects, Malay, Chinese, Lao and Mon-Khmer. English is also being spoken more in government and commerce. It is a law that children must go to school from ages 6 to 14. Mon and Khmer peoples, more than 2,000 years ago, lived in Thailand. Thailand’s economy is based off of free enterprise. Agriculture, manufacturing, fishing, mining, tourism and international trade are the bases of Thailand’s economy.

There is so much delicious cuisine in Thailand and food is a pleasure. Food such as fruit and vegetables are carved into shapes and objects and served as a snack or  with side a dish. Thailand food is more a feast of the eyes than the stomach because of the color and placing of the dish. Restaurants open around 11 a.m. and close around 10 p.m. to midnight. Coffee shops are a place to sit drink, snack or even kill time. Roadside food stands are mobile and owners push them home every night to be cleaned. Ingredients that are used to make the food are openly displayed in glass cases on the stand. Thai people were not accustomed to being tipped but the popularity of tips from tourists has been adopted. Thais eat with a fork in the left hand and a spoon in the right, the fork pushes the food onto the spoon to be eaten from the spoon. If you eat straight from the fork it is considered to be rude. Noodle dishes are strongly influenced by Chinese culinary traditions and are eaten with a spoon and chop sticks. Prices are listed next to each dish on a menu, usually written in Arabic numerals. Thai food is famous for its spicy qualities, chili peppers are an important part of these dishes. Rice and rice noodles are a staple food here, they can be served with dry or fried dishes and even soups. Meats are lightly fired and the veggies are boiled. As you can see Thailand is crazy about their food.

There is also breath taking scenery in Thailand. Thailand is home to many national parks, 100 parks to be exact. The beach of Thailand is a place for people to relax, learn how to scuba dive or even see some marine life. There are temperate forests of the Northern mountains and plains of central Thailand. By the savannahs there are mangrove forests off the Southern coast.Thailand has many animals here including elephants, monkeys, bears, whale sharks and some of the world’s largest fish. Thailand only goes through 3 seasons, a dry season from March to May, a hot and wet period from June to October and a cold dry season form November to February. Simple light clothing is worn here due to the hot tropical climate.

Now that I know more about this country I would like to go on vacation here someday. You now know more background information about Thailand, the food, and about the nature of this great country. I hope that you have learned more than you already knew and would want to go here someday just like me. Just thinking about being in the tropical climate with the warmth of the sun shining down on me. Okay you caught me, I just want to get a really nice tan!

Why Do I Want to go to College?

Why I Want to go to College

I’ve grown up in a  small town, where everyone knows everyone. There have been a lot of influences and opportunities, that have helped me figure out what I want to do. I’ve always wanted to do what makes me happy. When I am doing what I love it makes me feel like I can do anything. For many years I didn’t know what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. All this time I have wanted freedom, independence, and individuality. I have decided that doing what I have a passion and talent for will take me half of the way to success but only I can bring myself the rest of the way.

When I think about what I want to do when I grow up, eventually, I know that my future is bright, because I know what makes me happy. After high school with my diploma I would like to apply to a college and pitch for their college softball team, I love to pitch and started at a young age, so I knew that I wanted to continue that even when I was out of my summer leagues. I would also like to pursue a music career. When I listen to music it makes me feel like I can do anything, and it makes me feel confident and calm. I also have the dream of one day owning my own ranch, I like to help my dad out around the ranch, I just like to be outside and working with my hands.

College is something my parents want me to do because it will give me a better education, and I also want to attend a good college, so in my opinion it is mandatory. College is important to me because I want more experience for my pitching, and I would like to also have a more time playing in this great sport. When I go to college it will give me another view of music and let me decipher if I would like to do that for the rest of my life. College will also give me a better knowledge of agriculture to, then I will know more about animals, plants, and just over all care for everything.

My inspiration for my profession was influenced by my family, coaches, and music artists and teachers. They have all pushed me to be the best and give my all in all that I do. I asked one of my neighbors that is in college why it was beneficial and she said that when your in college you learn more about yourself and it allows you to grow into the person you’ll be for the rest of your life. I am looking forward to learning more about myself and my interests as I grow into myself. When I achieve my goals in life I will look back at college and think of how it helped me along the way. No matter how far I go I started somewhere, and I’ll always remember my roots and how I became who I am.
